Our responsibility

Ode to Cod

At Ode, we take responsibility for protecting a healthy marine environment. We are committed to contributing toa sustainable aquaculture industry that benefits both current and future generations.

Reducing our footprint

Today, we produce a high-quality, healthy protein with a low environmental footprint from a value chain that is based on the use of renewable energy and utilization of the entire fish.

  • Electrification of vessels

We have begun the transition to a fully electric fleet, with the first vessels already in operation. Our long-term goal is emission-free maritime operations, expanding as new technologies and opportunities arise.

  • Electrification of our locations

All our facilities are already connected to shore power, removing the need for diesel generators. This is a milestone in our broader plan to create a fully electrified infrastructure – building a network of clean, modern, and scalable sites ready to meet the future.

  • Solar power

Together with Alotta, we have introduced an innovative Alotta Solar Hybrid system at our Alida site, using repurposed fish cages to host floating solar panels. This project marks the beginning of a larger initiative to integrate renewable energy into our operations wherever possible, cutting emissions and strengthening our energy independence.

Integrated value chain

Our fully integrated value chain enables full control of quality throughout the lifecycle – from roe to finished products. Guided by the steady hands of our experts, each cod is given a lifetime of care.

Cod comfort

A healthy cod is a tastefull cod

At Ode, we take fish welfare seriously and ensure the best living conditions throughout the entire life cycle. Low density in the pens gives the cod plenty of space to swim naturally, while carefully composed feed ensures optimal nutrition.

Our facilities are designed to provide stable, safe conditions with minimal stress, and our experienced team continuously monitors the fish to ensure good health and well-being.

Raised in its natural habitat

The pristine Norwegian fjords offer the ideal environment for our cod, with deep, cold and crystal-clear water. By combining traditional knowledge with careful monitoring and care, we ensure the perfect conditions for our cod to thrive.

Taking care of the seabed

All our locations are thoroughly tested and achieve top scores on seabed conditions. We carry out B and C surveys, as well as shoreline assessments, at every site.
